OS 1:25 000 Scale Colour Refresh

Updated colour palette

Ordnance Survey (OS) is in the process of upgrading its 1:25 000 Scale Colour Raster product to ensure it retains longer term support, and as a result, the colour palette used with the product is being updated.

OS have matched the colours in the new system to the existing palette where possible to minimise the visual impact on the product, but it should be noted that four of the colour values have changed slightly and, when viewed side by side, these changes may be noticeable.

Updated symbols within 1:25 000 Scale Colour Raster

The upgraded product mentioned above has enabled Ordnance Survey to modernise a small number of symbols in the 1:25 000 Scale Colour Raster product. These are designed to give more information to users and to reflect the changing nature of our landscape.

As part of the design process, Ordnance Survey ran a competition with The One Show for the general public to send in their own designs to replace the exisiting symbols.

The following symbols will change in the course of normal tile revision and will be supplied gradually in future refreshes with normal change-only update.
