Scotland – Sasine Changes

The General Register of Sasines, the world’s oldest national land register, closed to new securities from 1 April 2016. From this date, if your property is on the sasine register and you borrow on your property with a new lender, your property will be moved onto the land register without a registration fee.

Some home owners may need to submit a new plan through their Solicitor, to meet the requirements of the land register, we at Masonmap have the Ordnance Survey detailed mapping to hand and the CAD skills to assist you and your solicitor with this requirement, should you need a plan.

Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and you can download the sasine-closure-to-securities-customer-leaflet.
